Wireless Technology on the

When most people hear the term Bluetooth
wireless technology, they associate it with
headsets and mobile phones. Others hear
Bluetooth technology and think of the phrase
heard time and time again. It's a cable
replacement technology. Bluetooth wireless
technology has applications beyond the simple
wireless headset and mobile phone usage
scenario. One of the applications with the
greatest area of growth over the past year is
the automotive use of Bluetooth
technology.
What does
Bluetooth Technology Do in a
Car?
Currently Bluetooth wireless technology is most
often used to facilitate hands-free operation
of mobile phones. It allows drivers to hold
mobile phone conversations without having to
hold a phone while driving and without having
to search for the mobile phone when it rings.
Bluetooth hands free options for the time you
spend in your car come in several variations -
standard or optional communications systems
offered by automotive manufacturers, watermark
car kits, wireless speaker accessories, and
wireless headsets.
The Rearview Mirror
HandsFree Car Kit (MHF-R220BT) is a
wireless device that utilises the latest
Bluetooth* technology to communicate with your
compatible phone within a 10-metre range. This
allows you to talk through its built-in high
quality loudspeaker and external high
sensitivity microphone without the need to hold
the phone or take your hands off the steering
wheel.
So easy to install, just plug into your
vehicles lighter socket and simply clip the
unit over the existing Rearview mirror and once
set up, you will be able to answer, end,
reject, redial, place calls or adjust the
loudspeaker volume by the simple press of a
button, wherever your phone is in your car-
there is no need to even remove your phone from
your pocket or purse.
The unit also supports voice dialling
(Functions only with mobile phones with voice
dialling capability) which enables you to dial
your favourite contacts without the need to
touch the phone and allow you to remain
concentrated on safely driving your car.

SIMPLE AND
EASY INSTALLATION
1. On the back of the unit you will see two
pairs of clips. Place the bottom pair of clips
on the underside of your existing rearview
mirror. Lift the unit so that the bottom clips
extend allowing the top clips to be fixed in
position on top of your Rearview mirror and
securely hold the handsfree unit in place.
Adjust the fitted unit to your preference for
clear rear vision.
2. Select a suitable position for the
microphone depending on your vehicle type, this
should be placed close to the users head - the
driver sun visor is normally adequate. "It is
highly recommended to have the front of the
microphone (side with more holes) directly
facing the operator for the best voice pickup."
The microphone can be placed either back or
front of the visor by detaching, rotating and
re-attaching microphone holder to correct side
of the microphone.
3. Clip a microphone on the driver's sun visor
recommended to keep a distance of the
microphone from the unit as long as
possible.
4. Insert the power jack of the power adaptor
cable (4 metres).
5. Connect the Power Adaptor Cable into its
respective socket on the unit.
6. The power lead should be secured and hidden
into the vehicles interior using the seals or
joins around the windscreen and door "A-Frame"
and under your dashboard. Ensure that you leave
yourself enough cable to be able to connect to
your cigarette lighter socket.
Note : Please ensure
that the microphone and power cable do not
interfere with the safe operation of your
vehicle.
